resetting Ipod to factory setting so to be authorized 5x by a new owner?
I want to upgrade to the newest version of Ipod. I want to reset my current version 3rd generation back to its manufacturing setting so the new owner can authorize it with itunes. Currently this ipod is authorized on 5 computers (3 computer are no longer in my possession). How to reset everything including the authorizations.

You don't have to do anything special. It's the Itunes account that has to be authorized on a computer. The specific Ipod does not have to be. I just did the resent (hold center key and outside key until apple comes up on screen) and that did it all.
You should spend some time figuring out how to deauthorize those other 3 computers so anyone with your former computer can't access your purchased music.
