My mother told me that she heard God tell her to sell her home and give the money to charity.?

She's never shown herself to be unstable. Did this really happen or is she mentally ill?

Many people have given great sums to the Church based on their financial ability. She is not mentally ill. In fact it is honorable to give to any charity.

Honestly, I can't say if your mother is unstable or not. I will say there are many people out there that pimp the Word of God and are not real representatives of God and some of these false teachings and directions do leave people in jeopardy of spiritual abuse. So, now you pray for intervention for your mother if this is the case.

If she tells you that she is doing this according to the word. Also, share with her what many money focused ministries will not: ! Timothy 5:8

If anyone does not provide for his relatives, and especially for his immediate family, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever. If this house is surplus and her giving will not sacrifice or put the family in jeopardy.

There may be other reasons that she doesn't want to discuss with you. Now, don't forget also she is the mother and even though we don't agree with their decisions we can't over-ride our position over our parents.

    What charity? God is specific.

Let me check my prayer history….

No, that was Zeus who said it. Silly Zeus, always trying to get people to be socialists.
