What relieves SEVERE menstrual cramps?
I have horrible cramps! They are so bad i have to stay home from school for 2 days and double over in pain. I have tried Midol, Motrin, Tylenol, advil everything you can think of. I've tried tea, heating pad, how showers and exercise it just doesn't seem to work. Right now i take 4 aleves every 5-6 hours and i don't like it. Is there anything BESIDES birth control that can help?

I'm in the same boat as you 100%. Aleve is the only thing that somewhat works. Make sure you take it right before or as soon as you get your period. If you wait, it won't work as well. There are stick on heating pads you can get at Walmart. A poster mentioned bananas, which are great bc the potassium reduces cramps. Coconut water is a great source of potassium too. Good luck. I hope we can both find a cure bc I'm also sick of being in agony 2 days every month.

Well, before I started birth control (which you seem very against, and that's ok) I ate a lot of bananas. They seemed to help take them away. I also used a heating pad (don't fall asleep with it because that is a fire hazard). I have also done physical activity. I know that is the last thing you want to be doing, but for me it seems to get things "going" and stirred up in there and just made everything feel looser and better.
These things worked for me, but they only work for a short amount of time and you can't obviously have a heating pad at school or just randomly start exercising during class. To be quite honest, it does sound as though you should try birth control. Whatever your reason is for not taking it, just think if it is worth it to be in that much pain. Even just go see your doctor. He/She might have some suggestions that aren't birth control related at all.
I hope I helped. :) Good luck and I hope you find some relief!

Try a heating pad on your lower tummy. That helps a lot. Then take Motrin or something other for menstrual cramps.

take a towel and run some hot water on it but not too hot so it doesnt burn you. and put it on your lower tummy. that helps me on the nights that i can't sleep because of unbearable cramps
