Bed bugs picked up on vacation - HELP!!?

My husband and I just got back from Cuba. We unfortunately had an issue with bed bugs in one place we stayed in. Woke up covered in bites. We informed the casa owner and she sprayed with insecticide all over the room and sprayed our packs as well. So I am afraid now we have brought them home with us. We were VERY VERY careful and left all of our belongings including the clothes we had on outside overnight when we got home and did not bring anything in the house.

We have now bought some insecticide for bedbugs and were outside spraying down everything and put it all in garbage bags to sit for a while.

My concern lies with the cigars that we purchased there. I am afraid to spray them with insecticide for obvious reasons and we don't know what to do with them so they are in the freezer at the moment which we didn't want to do but didn't know what else to do. My question is, how long should we leave them in the freezer (it is set at -18 celsius) and will this process destroy the cigars? We paid a lot of money for them and hate to throw them out as my husband is a cigar afficianado.

Help!!!!!

Freezer doesnt kill bed bugs guaranteed, only extreme prolonged heat does. Imo, throw the cigars out. Its not worth needing to throw away everything you own when its infested just to have a few cigars. You should also throw out the luggage and clothes you brought with you, as well as any purses or bags you had with you. Leaving them outside isn't going to do a thing. Bed bugs can crawl a distance and may already be in your house, from your shoes, or wallet. Be safe. Throw those things away now before they enter your house. You don't want even one of them inside. But it sounds like you already brought stuff back inside. So at this point just be cautious and throw those cigars away.

I had bed bugs. There is very little you can do. We had to call the exterminator and throw away everything they could live in. My great-grandmother's quilts, an old, cherished leather chair, and stuffed animals from childhood were just a few of the priceless items we lost. It was TERRIBLE.

The previous advice is right on. Throw, throw, throw. Otherwise you'll throw everything later and spend tons of money on exterminators.
