Kids growing up too fast?

I agree. I'm your age and kids at my school are like that too. Most of the 8th graders do drugs, once I saw them teaching the sixth graders how to smoke pot. My brother is 10, and some people his age watch porn. It's a messed up world.

I know how you feel. I am 12 also and in 7th grade. Why do these children want to grow up so fast? I mean ugh! You must be like my long lost twin. Everything you said, I agree. I think this everyday when I see that. One day I went to the store and I saw a girl that was like 7... Yes seven that was on an iPhone, her face was full of makeup, she had a tube top and little tiny shorts. Not to mention that her hair was like pin straight. My hair is straight, but not naturally pin straight and hers wasn't either. I just don't know what to do with the children of today. My cousin (10) wants to act all grown up but still has that kid in her. One minute she will think that she's all cool because she has a little boyfriend. The next she will be happy playing with Barbies. I could keep on ranting, but I think I've said enough.

What is wrong with the kids today?

EDIT: To the guy that said 14 is not a kid, that is wrong. When you go into high school, that doesn't mean you are all mature and you are not a kid. It means you are 14. If you are living off of Mommy and Daddy's paycheck and doing nothing, you are a kid. Like Omg I am in high school! I am an adult now! I can do whatever I want! Can you live without mommy and daddy and go support yourself? No.

I agree with you to a certain point. The fact that they wear short shorts is kind of understandable for me because I over heat really quickly to the point that I'm going to pass out. But, I had a friend who wore them all the time and she would complain about being cold! I don't think that there's a problem with having boyfriends and girlfriends at that age because my parents now a couple who have been together for nearly 50 years and they started dating when they were 11. In some cases it's acceptable but when they just have one to have one then it's just stupid. I think that kids should wait to have sex until they are at least 18 and in love but some people just aren't raised right. I don't think that the media has anything to do with all of this at all. It's the parenting really. My parents tought me to keep my head high and if anyone said anything bad to or about me that I should just ignore them because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind. My parents tought me that I am beautiful and that money isn't everything. My dad was starting to get stressed out over his job and wasn't being very nice so he quit to spend more time with my sisters and I. I believe that with proper parenting and support that this wouldn't be an issue. I'm 14 by the way. Well I hope you appreciate my opinion, have a great day :)

I agree 100% with you! When I was in the seventh grade (two years ago, I'm in 9th now), kids were just like that and I was like what the hell, you're twelve! Even now I would rather sit at home watching movies and playing Bop It. Some kids just grow up too fast. Luckily I have a small group of friends and they are nothing like whores or sluts. They are just kids.

Why do people think that 14 isn't a kid? You're still a kid except a lot of 14 year olds walk around half dressed, bragging about having sex.

The only "boyfriends" I have are guy friends and they are genuinely nice guys. They don't walk around in Ed Hardy with their pants halfway down their legs, bragging about sex either. The only thing we brag about is who has the ring pop.

By the way, if you're worrying that all guys are like what you explained, don't worry because they are not. In middle school it may seem like that because everything thinks it's cool. Once you get to high school, or even sooner, you'll meet some guy friends that aren't total jerks.

ok first, i dont believe that your a middle school student. second, i wore short shorts and makeup and kissed my boyfriend at 13(8th grade) nothing is wrong with the shorts or makeup or kissing. its how you go about it. if your wearing enough makeup to where you look like a clown, kissing every boy in school, and wearing shorts that dont cover your cheeks, then yes, thats a problem. if you wear a nice amount of makeup, have just a couple boyfriends, and wear the shorts that cover at least your cheeks then i have no problem with it. i find it offensive that you call those girls sluts. theyre not. im a senior in high school now and dating the same boy as i was in 8th grade. theres nothing wrong with dating young, at least not if your parents dont mind. there is a problem with having sex young.

and another thing, you said your still a kid until you 18 and paying your own bills. my sisters 16 in her own apartment paying for her own bills and supporting her child, on her OWN. you dont have to be 18 to be an adult. but i do agree that you have to be paying your own bills.

i recommend you getting to know some of these girls instead of judging them by how they look. they could be really nice, but you'll never know unless you open your mind up a bit.

Omygod u pretty much describe all the "popular" people at my school!! Ya im in 7th grade also and i totally 110% agree w/ u. I mean, i hav heard this one girl in my grade had a freakin baby! And fhis otjer guy had a girlfriend, but had sex with a different girl twice! Although i havnt found condoms at school, but im sure i will soon, cuz we have a school dance coming up...and around October, we had to have this cop guy come give our school a lecture about sexting and all that crap...and also my friend told me this girl sexted a guy on his basketball team (my friend is not involved in that sexting crap) so ya, i agree w/ u, and sorry about my long rant

I agree these days people grow up too fast,I grew up too fast and regret it all the time. Once your an adult you wish you could be a kid again. At least your smart,and I hope you stay that way. You seem like you have a good head on your shoulders. Enjoy your childhood and who cares what anyone else thinks.

I 100% agree with you! I'm 13, and kids in my school are doing drugs and sneaking out. It's great to read something on here that isn't about pregnancies or if sex at 16 is ok. Dude, if everyone could see things the way that you do, our generation wouldn't be f*cked. But, unfortunately, they don't. I think that in time we're going to have to get used to this, as hard as that may be, because, let's face it: unless something miraculous happens, things are just going to get worse. If only, If only :/

Im in 7th grade too! i have the same issues! i just moved to new jersey :( from new york :) and everyone here has boyfriends and do disgusting things and wear inappropriate clothes and stuff like that, they dont care about their schoolwork at all, its depressing. the worst part is, the guys bug me, like older guys, and pick me up and are WAY too touchy if you know what i mean, yesterday they followed me home and wouldnt get out of my house!!! i totally agree with you, i only wear a little makeup. my only advice is, DONT SELL YOUR SOUL!!!!!!! guys in the long run dont like girls like that anyway ;)

This rising generation are getting more and more mature at a very young age. Everything on tv and music are appealing to older audiences and they are watching/listening thinking its ok.

- Look Disney Channel and Nickelideon they have teen shows already showing kids kissing and giving TINY hints of SEX.
