Okay, well first of all deep breath. I'm a freshman in high school currently and last year I felt the same way. It's good that you are thinking about this now, and starting to plan ahead so you will be less nervous when you start and will know more about what to expect. Last year I was really unsure over whether my current school was the right place for me. However, I am loving it now. The first week and a half I was there, I was totally lost. I had no idea where anything was and I would always feel awkward about asking someone. It was horrible! I honestly thought I would never find any of my classes or even just the restroom! But now, I know exactly where everything is. So if you feel like you're never going to be able to find your classes, just keep reminding yourself that soon you will know exactly where everything is. Don't get discouraged! I find that I still have time for extracurriculars, friends, and homework. It really isn't that bad, you just have to stay on top of your assignments. Don't be afraid to talk to your teachers or anybody if you need help, even if it's only a small math question or anything. Nobody wants to see you suffer. If you got good grades in middle school, the transition is honestly not that bad. It's good to have goals. Where do you see yourself in 4 years? Wherever it is, now you know how hard you need to work. There's so much to say that I'm not even going to bother saying it all. The last thing I would say is to get to know your teachers and especially your counselor. Even if you drop by your counselor for a little thing between classes like, "Hey, you won't believe what happened today at lunch" or whatever, it's good. It doesn't always have to be this deep, dark secret and they might be the one's writing your college rec letters (like at my school) so it's good to get to know them. High school is great because you get experience working hard and you also learn what study habits work best for you, but you still get to do the things you love and hang out with your friends. Don't worry at all, but just relax and know that there are many people around you that you can go to, if you ever need anything. If you have any more questions, or just want to say hi (I'm lonely lol) my email address is nicoleandrews0331@gmail.com. Good luck and I hope you have a great time!
PS-I don't live in Glendale, sorry. I go to Seaholm.

Its not that bad. I was scared too but you get used to it. The amount of homework depends on what classes youre taking and it IS true that junior year is the hardest. I got lost on my first day but believe it or not there were nice teachers and students that help you out. You can join sports or clubs....at my school there are clubs for EVERYTHING. Good Luck! :))

get a map of the school. All teacher know freshman are going to get lost the first week.
Just remember your grades as a freshman do count when applying to colleges.
You need to plan out your week and what needs to be done. Teachers are not going to be on you, reminding you what needs to get done. Ask for help if you need it. try studying with other students from the same classes.

When you go to high school make sure you are a strong fighter because there are alot of kids who can't walk the walk. If you are lucky you will not have to do ungraded homework if your classes are big. It is way more easier than middle school.
