Moksha means true freedom. Nothing more or less. After moksha, the being is free to understand, express, give and take everything in the Universe. There are no more material bonds. He is bonded with the existence and identifies himself with it. He become existence. Thousands of headbreaking queries about life are answered in a moment. The body is not a prison, it is the gateway to bliss.

    I am an agno-myst

    and I think,

    Moksha is the ultimate freedom,

that is freedom from both the life and the death as well.

    I think,

ultimately, it is the level of the consciousness and awareness of the being,

    that determines,

whether the body is a prison or a gate way to bliss.

So body in itself is impartial,

    it is neither a prison

nor a gate way to bliss.

Moksha means freedom from the life cycle.. When Moksha happens, the soul doesn't reincarnate, it goes straight to heaven..

Moksha means freedom from life, not freedom of life. This life of human birth, animal birth, plant birth, is all material and surrounded and captured by and in Maya. The body can be both. It is prison because we are the soul; the individual is the soul, and the body is the clothes the soul wears. This body is given by GOD so that one can do everything possible, and in this age of Kaliyuga, bhakti (Devotion) to attain GOD and liberation from all MATERIAL things. The earth and heaven as well, is material. They are not permanent. Permanent is GOD's abode. Earlier people used to do meditation and other methods so as to gain liberation (moksha) and achieve enlightenment, meaning they become GOD-realized souls. In conclusion, moksha is freedom from life, the human life and all other earthly lives, so that the soul goes permanently into the permanent blissful abode of GOD, and the body is used to do bhakti to attain GOD.

It is neither freedom from life nor freedom of life. It is a state of correct understanding of the truth about oneself. By so understanding, the person who has understood is no more subject to any doubts are illusions and therefore is eternally and enormously happy.

What is it that one has to understand the truth about oneself?

That understanding is getting answers to the following queries:

    1. Who am I? Whether I am the perceptible body or the consciousness of life in Me?

    2. If I am not the body, but the consciousness of I, how am I here?

    3. Why am I here? Meaning, what am I responsible for and to whom am I accountable to?

    4. What are the consequences of non understanding?

    5. What are the impediments to one for correct understanding?

    6. What are the means of such understanding?

The above questions are permanent riddles for those who have not understood! For those who have understood will not be able to explain it to others!!!

When you realize the Truth and truth is to overcome, the innumerable desires and the state of bliss happens. Once enlightened it will be choice of one to have birth as human or not. I consider it as freedom of life.

Moksha menace getting out of birth and life cycle. Life goes from one body to other after death, hence if you say it is a prison to some extent it is ok, but when you took birth in human you should not say it is a prison, you can think about moksha and come out from this cycle by making people around you happy, by helping one in need, help may not be in the form of money it could be food, cloths, or even teaching good things, making one a good citizen etc.

Example of such people are Vivekananda, Ramakrishna Paramhouse, Shirde Saibaba, Gautham Buddha, Mother Teresa, even your good teacher who is dedicated to teaching. your parents who have not kept with them any thing during their life time, and given whatever some body asked specially children or without waiting to ask. Provided they have earned without troubling others. If you say your body is a prison then all your efforts goes wast. Because body consists of 5 elements which are created by god and god wants from you to donate some thing to the nature without selfish thoughts.

Some body told me are you selfish I told no, then he told me can you spair your wife, I kept quiet, because my wife is loving me If I say yes, I am totally harming my wifes thoughts and this is a greatest sin which I might have committed. Asking this type of questions is also a great sin. If we are not harming others thoughts we may come out of this cycle.

If some body says she/He likes you and want to marry, if you say no; your not harming her or his thoughts, because it is individuals liking, Lord Rama and Lord Ravana booth were liking Seeta but Seetha liking Rama alone, so Lord Rama only could lift Bow due to combind thoughts. Lord Ravana even though sprital, lost his power due to anger he lost his empire, strength every thing Just because he was keeping an eye on Seeta, which has burnt all his power. this is the power of thought. Many doctors help patient to come out of the desease; out of way without expecting fees for poor's they also get moksha.

When child takes birth it will have godly thoughts, but surrounding peoples induces bad or devils thoughts and gradually fix ourself in death and birth cycle.

It is liberation from the suffering and conditioning imposed by samsara. Your question reminds me of Gnosticism in a way.
