Mainly ignorance; and it's a trend that hasn't yet died out. It will in time, to be replaced by something else equally vapid. Try not to let it get to you.

Unfortunately, it is so easy for people do as they please, even though they dont realize that it might actually be hurting someone. I agree, there are better things to describe something as.
