Can a good poker player tell me a what poker book is available on beating a pro player?

While there are tons of great poker books out there, in my opinion, the best poker book specifically targeted at less experienced players players wanting to beat more skilled players is "Kill Phil", by Blair Rodman.

He offers specific strategies for beating players who are more advanced than you are. I deal poker for a living, and play, as well. I've seen players use the strategies outlined in this book, and in my opinion, they work.

Harrington on Holdem is the definitive book on poker strategy. If poker players could only read one book on Texas holdem this is the book they would read. Learning the strategy of poker is only half the battle though. You must also practice and gain the discipline to do the things you have learned without getting bored and making mistakes. You must be ever vigilant and ever engaged as well as being able to adapt to a changing table environment and control your own emotions and reactions. Beating a pro player is going to be quite a challenge. Keep in mind that they have likely read any book that is relevant to poker. It is their job to be informed about poker strategy. They will know all the statistics, probabilities, tells and betting patterns. Good luck.
