Did they mess up on our wedding invites?? The wording seems weird!?
it says..
Mr Geoge Haney and Ms. Darci Haney
and Mr Chad and Colleen Schumacher
invite you to join them as they celebrate the marriage of their daughter
Amber Linn Haney
&
Chris Robert Schumacher...
Ok to me that just seems weird..and I can't send them back now!! Do you think people will think it's completely stupid the way it's worded? I don't think too many will really care but still..it's strange...and I'm not TOO upset because we are technically already married we are just having the actual wedding now...
Is it weird the way they did that?

Unfortunately, the wording is not quite correct. Fortunately, I don't think too many people will notice. Most just skim the names of the parents and then check to see who is getting married and when/where. If this is something that you approved a proof of or provided the wording for, then there isn't much you can do unless you want to pay to re-print them. If the wording is something they came up with and didn't provide a proof (which they really should have), then I would imagine you should be able to get them re-printed. If you do opt to re-print them, the wonderful thing about wedding invitations these days is that there isn't just one way to write them properly. You have options from very informal to very formal. Just a few ideas are:
Formal:
Mr. and Mrs. George Haney
and
Mr. and Mrs. Chad Schumacher
request the honour of your
presence at the marriage of
their children
Amber Linn Haney
and
Chris Robert Schumacher...
Less Formal:
The Haney and Schumacher families invite
you to share in the joy of the
marriage uniting
their children
Amber Linn
and
Chris Robert
If George and Darci are divorced:
Mr. Georgey Haney and Ms. Darci Haney
and Mr. and Mrs. Chad Schumacher
invite you to join them as they celebrate the marriage of their children
Amber Linn Haney
and Chris Robert Shumacher

If that's how it's worded, it's saying that you are the daughter of Mr Geoge Haney, Ms. Darci Haney, AND Mr Chad and Colleen Schumacher.
It would be clearer if it said:
Mr Geoge Haney and Ms. Darci Haney
and Mr Chad and Colleen Schumacher
invite you to join them as they celebrate the marriage of their CHILDREN
Amber Linn Haney
&
Chris Robert Schumacher.
***
OR
Mr Geoge Haney and Ms. Darci Haney
invite you to join them as they celebrate the marriage of their daughter
Amber Linn Haney
to
Chris Robert Schumacher.
son of Mr Chad and Colleen Schumacher

I'd double check that this wasn't an error in wording on your behalf. If it's NOT, either have them reprint for free (if there is time), or ask for a refund. Overall, people will be able to figure out what you are saying and who are the grooms' parents (the last names match)...a most people probably won't even notice.

Why can't you send them back? They are defective.
Is that the copy you provided to the printer? If so, then you're stuck with it.
However, if the printing company worded the invitation like that, they should be responsible for printing new ones asap.
(Both sets of parents are not inviting guests to the marriage of their "daughter."
Should be either "daughter and son" or "children" in that phrase.)

That's usually the normal wording for a formal invitation. Ours is similar.. it says
Andrew _____ & Renae _____
and their parents invite you to join
them in the celebration of their marriage.
It goes on to give dates and times and dress attire.
I don't think it sounds weird. Don't worry... people don't even really read them that closely anyway. Lol. Everything will be fine. Don't stress over the invitations. they sound fine to me. :)
Congratulations and good luck!! <3

Seems clear to me that:
Her parents are divorced. His parents are not. What is wrong is that they should have put 'the marriage of their children' or replaced the & with a 'to'.
I'm surprised though - most people actually check the invite before it's printed. Apparently, you didn't, missed it or weren't invited to do so. I would ask them to reprint it and have it ready in 2-3 days time.
