Electric fireplace or gel fuel fireplace?

I am a single mom of two so want something that is cost efficent but looks nice and heats up my living room. I have a small living room and don't want an odor. So I need to decide between a gel fuel or electric fireplace. Which would you say is better?

I'm pretty sure electric fire places don't actually give of any heat... they just look nice. I know my family has a gas fireplace in our living room but I'm not sure how expensive it would be to install.. because it runs of natural gas and all of that needs to be connected. And sorry but I've never heard of a gel fuel fireplace.. Hope I helped a little.

While gel fuel gives off some heat, the gel fuel is expensive (you should price it for yourself & how long it burns)-and see if that fits your budget. The cheapest would be a gas one.
