2006 Ford Escape I have a oil leak. It appears during cold weather only. It appears to come from the main.?

All summer it does not leak or in this case "drip" . This is third year of leaking. 6 cylinder engine I was wondering if this is consistant with a main bearing leak? It is on the left side as you look at front of vehicle. This is the first time I have had a car leak oil only in the winter.

since it only occurs when temperatures are very cold? it would seem likely that it is seal related eg seal is hard and not flexible enough when cold ( they do get age and Temperature hardened over time) pinpointing exact area of source is needed to confirm the actual seal or gasket leaking.

dealers have dye packs the put in that cause oil to fluoresce under ultra violet lamps. showing site of an oil leak. ( green)
