Why is the Democratic party leaning towards Marxism/Socialism?

The Democratic Party is capitalist, not socialist. The Republican party has swung farther to the right in recent years than the Democrat party has swung left. Criticizing one's country does not mean that a person is not patriotic. If someone hated their country, why would they bother to comment at all? Republicans and Democrats both love this country and want it to be the best that it can be. They just have different opinions on how to get there.

The Democratic Party is very happy with what American was built on (the USA, that is) because it is exactly those rules and principles which allow them to vote in (legally) Socialism.

I really don't believe the kind of Socialism most Democrats are working towards is the Marxist kind. Mostly they just want to circumvent the judicial system to hand out recompense to those they believe can not obtain justice any other way.

The Republicans play the same game.

In a Marxist country every business in the country with more than say 10 employees would be owned by the government. Every bank, every utility, every department store, even the delicatessen down at the corner if it has more than ten employees. Just because the Democrats are pushing for universal health care and more state intervention in the marketplace doesn't mean they are even considering a Marxist Socialist state.

Who is saying that? Speaking as a Liberal, Liberty means freedom. Our society, the "United Sates of America" is built on a country working together, despite our differences.

Kibber, because marxism/socialism, or more precisely for today - neolibnazeism is a ticket to an absolute power and that's what they, and their muslim fuhrer hussein obaminator really crave.

because it is the right thing to do in the world that we live in today. most people are in financial trouble and need that safely net. Like health care. how are you paying for your health care.

Would you prefer to have open heart surgery and pay for it for the rest of your life. or would you rather have the surgery and never see a bill.

They are leaning decidedly anti-capitalism. I don't know if they know yet what they are; many of them like to ask the "define socialism" question on this site.
