Got a favorite song that mentions the Rocky Mountains?
...or Colorado?
Guess I'm feeling a little homesick today.
Thanks!
Rocky Mountain Way ~ Joe Walsh
Yes, Trixie, the Rockies are stunning in the southern part of the state. Here's a shot of the Sangre de Cristo range:

Kicking myself for missing Boulder To Birmingham, and kudos to Lucy for posting it. Its Emmylou's elegy to Gram Parsons...
This one came to me while answering another question-
10 Degrees & Getting Colder-Tony Rice (written by Gordon Lightfoot)

thought I'd post Tony's version since he can no longer sing. He interprets Lightfoot better than anyone else.

Well, my favorite, always homesick-inducing one, is the Rick Roberts/Flying Burrito Brothers version of Colorado (although Linda Ronstadt did an ok cover)
and then there's just about everything John Denver ever did.
But since those have already been mentioned, I'll say Things to Do in Denver when You're Dead, by Warren Zevon

and The Blizzard, by Judy Collins (heard her do this one live a couple of years ago, second row in Leadville's tiny little restored Tabor Opera House)

Since the Canadian Rocky Mountains and Banff National Park are an hours drive from here, we're actually heading out to do a little skating on Lake Louise this weekend!

I'm missing someone who's there too :( Years ago I found this album (and another) at Sears for $3, in a milk crate marked "clearance". Score! :) The song is about missing someone, and also mentions a mountain and a Colorado town (obviously).
