Walking into an airport?

This might be a dumb question. I'm trying to get into an airport. I walked here with my bags, no car, and all the gates that I saw on the outside seemed to be for vehicles only, with signs stating something along the lines of "No Pedestrians".

I'm next door to the airport now unsure of what to do. It doesn't look like I can get in to ask anyone this. Has anyone else entered an airport this way? What should I do? Did I overlook something?

    What airport are you trying to fly out of? Just walk around and see if you can find doors that lead you inside the airport. Look for signs that say departures.

    Just hurry up and walk into one of the gates for cars
