If you can afford them, I would go with the three CVR 15's. You would have a little more cone area than the L5's and you will be able to move more air (more air = more SPL). As for the boxes, please please please don't go prefab! Prefabs are a "universal" fitment so to speak. The single most important factor in a system other than power is the box. Sure, you could spend $500+ in subs, but if you don't have a good box for them, they will sound like garbage. I would suggest doing a little bit of reading about T/S (Thiele-Small) Parameters, how they work, and how to factor them into your enclosure(s). I have two Sundown 8's right now that are outpounding my friend's three Memphis MClass 15's.

Just be sure that if you're running an amp that big, that your truck's charging system can give it the power it needs. If it's not, it can burn up the diodes in your alternator and deep cycle your battery. That right there will cost you about $400 - $500 to fix. If you need to up your amperage, get a high output alternator and upon installing that, run 1/0G ga OFC (Oxygen-Free Copper, not CCA) wire for the "Big Three" upgrade. I have a MechMan 270A high output alternator in my truck and they are absolutely awesome. Never resort to a capacitor! They do more harm to your charging system than good. Hope this helps!

Honeslty, you wont be loud with the 3 cvr 15's or 2 l5's, you'll be avg at best.

It all boils down to purchasing the right subwoofer, building the perfect enlcosure for the sub and vehicle and putting good power to it. It all depends on the install.

You dont need a bunch of subs to get loud. As JNJAudio has stated his SA-8's are louder than his friends 3 15's. Do some research and find a better sub(s) for that brz1700.

3 CVR's would be the loudest in that truck if you could get the ohms right for you amp.3 CVR's dual 2 ohm voice coils will give you 1.3 ohms .If you could build your own box or get somebody else to build it to specs you will see a big difference.2 CVR's would be louder than the L5.
