Is GTA 4 good as a stand alone game?

For me it was meh-ish. I'd wait for GTA V, in my opinion there could have been a LOT more in GTA IV, for an open world/sandbox game it wasn't that great, there just wasn't enough of things to do. But it has a very good story. When it first came out everyone loved it and it got praise by critics, and I can see why, it's good for about a few weeks, but after that it's a complete bore. Just my opinion by the way, you could be different.

Yes, compared to san andreas, gta 4 is trash. But not comparing it to anything, it is a good game. Good storyline (imo), awesome multiplayer, and the physics just make it more hilarious. Not the BEST freeroam game out there, but it is one worth checking out. I had hours and hours of fun, until red dead redemption came out xD

I didnt like the the fact that you cant drive an airplane..

It is different but better..its in NY..

It is a good game.. the graphics are sweet, new guns, new pimped out cars, running people over is fun cause they wont just fly into the air..they act like bodies hiting the floor..

It's a great game. The realism I think is it's strong suit, so strong in fact that Saints Row had to go the opposite route to craziness. My favorite example of it's ingenuity is drunk driving, it is actually presented well and feels drunk too. My uncle tried driving normally in the game when drunk and it was just like me sober and drunk driving!

I really suggest you play it because it will be a classic

And because the story shows you somewhat to certain extent the reality of the american dream

GTA IV is an awesome game.Rockstar makes the best free roam games ever.And those who don't like it , well they can go play sh*tty saints row
