Given the right tools anyone can see what you're doing while you're online. If you're asking that just being a lamen's wifi account will allow that person to watch you browse through their PC then no, that's not going to be the case. Just logging on a wifi is not going to automatically allow anyone access to what you are doing. Given programs though, you can be tracked for being on their network, only showing you are using their bandwith, not exactly what you're doing with it. 99 times out of 100 you're safe to use a wifi without being viewed. Do remember though, that the internet is a window. You look at it, and it looks right back at you.

they would need some sort of 3rd party equipment, however, if their wifi has no password it is completely legal to use/steal from.

they can see that you are using it, by checking the networked devices, but cant see what you have done on their network.

if you learned their password, and are using their wifi without permission, then get off of it, but if they had no password, use it until they tell you to stop.

They can see that you are logged into their router, see how long you and how much data you have used. Most routers dont log sites visited and the like but it wouldnt take anything for them to get a bit of monitoring software and monitor EVERYTHING you are doing.

If its not your or you dont have permission though, log off immediately you are committing a criminal offence, and the other poster is incorrect. it is still an offence even if they have not turned on a password or encryption. you can face a fine or possible jail time depending on where you are...
