Connecting gaming console to PC Monitor help?

I want to connect my Xbox 360 (as well as my PS3) to my HD computer monitor, and I understand that I could use the VGA/HD AV cables to do it.

However it seems much more simple to me to just use the HDMI port on the back of the monitor instead of using the converter, and I already have an HDMI cable I wouldnt have to go out and buy the converter.

Are there any issues with just connecting my 360 to my monitor using the HDMI port?

It would work just fine! =)

I did same thing with my PS3. Hooked PS3 up to HDMI port and left my PC to my VGA port. I toggle back and forth from monitor settings to go to the one i want.
