Is Metro PCS supposed to charge a first-time activation fee?
okay so, I went to Metro PCS today and bought a phone with a $50 plan, plus international calls ($10), so its a $60 plan total. Then I get home, and I see a text on my phone saying that I owe $70 monthly, so I'm like WTF?! I look at the receipt and they charged and extra $10 for Rhapsody Music, which I never asked for at all...I go back to the store and they tell me, "No, Rhapsody is free the first month, the extra $10 is an activation fee"...??? They must think I'm an idiot, when the receipt exactly says: $10 - RPY (which must stand for Rhapsody, not activation)...Anyways. just wanted to know if they are supposed to charge an activation fee, or they're just giving services you don't want just to sell more or get a better comission. lol. Thanks.

the store is privately owned...as are most of these places (ever notice how one store looks great and another has a guy eating a sandwich behind the counter? They get the $10.00 as a commission for hooking you into buying Rhapsody for a full year!..kick back city ! Tell your friends to buy the phone ONLINE and do not go into the store.
