Dual voice coil subwoofer, but only using one voice coil?
I have a dual voice coil 4 ohm kicker cvr subwoofer and I believe 1 of the could are burnt cause it crackled bad when I was powering both, but now I only have one voice coil hooked up and it sounds perfect. My question is, if I only have the 1 voice coil being powered and its a dual 4 ohm, how many ohms is the 1 VC, pulling from my amp?
2? 4?

It's a Dual 4. Means it's two 4-ohm coils. This divides the subs thermal power handling in half. ie: If a dual 4-ohm sub handles 500w RMS, it will now only handle 250 @ 4-ohm. Not a good idea to be running the sub this way.
