How to clean underarm hair?

I've got a buildup of gunk that doesn't smell good, especially when it's wet. Soap, shampoo, and water do not get it off. Water actually makes it worse - it seems to absorb it. It's a thin lining on some of the hairs, like plastic around an electric cord. It's been getting worse over the past 1.5 months. Any ideas or suggestions of what I should try to get it off?

I have a few: I could try rubbing alcohol, or acetone (nail polish remover)? I'm going to have to cut off the hair unless I figure out how to clean it - it's causing odor/sweat issues.

I've had this problem before in the past, but not this bad and it went away last time. Weird eh?

Blimey, that does sound odd! I'm guessing you're a fella, but personally I'd opt for cutting your losses and shaving it off. It'll soon grow back. The existing hair sounds too damaged to make a full recovery.

The next step, of course, is to identify what's causing this curious phenomena so it doesn't happen again, and it sounds like your deodorant is the most likely culprit. Try changing both your brand and your format, so if you're using a Sure spray now try a Mitchum roll-on.

Just one more thing. Do you swim a lot? If so, it could be the chlorine having a bad affect on the texture of your underarm hair. There are special haircare products for swimmers you can buy to protect it before you go in the pool -- more usually used on heads, of course, but what the heck.

Waxing. Trust me its the pleasant, it leaves your beneath arm epidermis CLEAN & SMOOTH. Advantages: The hair does not develop again quicker love it does whilst you shave or use lotions. Softens the hair so whilst you preserve waxing it could be much less painful. No darkish patches. Takes out the hair from the basis. The development might be lessened if you happen to stick with waxing. Disadvantages: A little painful to start with (that too simply the method which takes what? A MINUTE?) but it surely does not harm THAT so much. I'm definite you'll manage it.

Cutting the hair off seems like a sensible thing to do because the hair will grow back but hopefully the gunk will go away.

Go see a doctor? The easy option is to cut the hair but when they grow back, could it just come back again if you have already had it before? x
