horse does not want to go?
My horse seems to want to just stand still once i mount, I have a very hard time getting him to go, even having to dismount & walk him down the driveway to get him started, thanks for any suggestions.

Try going for a ride with another horse so he has company - horses like being in groups so he might just not want to leave home on his own. Once you've done this a few times & he knows his territory then he might be more confident - he might be scared that you're going to ride him someplace dangerous.
Also, check to see if his tack fits correctly as sometimes if he has a sore back or mouth then he won't enjoy being ridden.

i have seen some horses acting like that..but they usually act like that if u bought them recently. u should try stroking him while telling him to go. may be it wont work the first time, but if u continue he will probably understand what u mean. he will automatically start going in the future as he will take this as some sort of a hint to get going. hope this helps

Hes just being stubborn. are you the boss in this relationship? dont cater to his laziness. horses are herd animals, you have to be at the top of the herd if you want him to listen to you at all. horses are also flight animals and they need to trust that you know what your doing. dont be afraid to catch his attention.
