Do you think the internet has ruined WWE experience for us? +BQs?

I mean 10 to 20 years ago, there was no internet, and all the storylines and twists in the WWF were unexpected, it acually made it more exciting, whereas nowadays sites are flooded with spoilers and other masses of "extra information" that might ruin the experience of watching WWE. I'm not saying internet degenerated wrestling for us, certainly intenet access gave us faster way to access information and share our knowledge, but now we know alot of the "backstage" stories and other spoilers through the net, do you think this has changed the way we view WWE than that we used to 10 or 20 years ago? what are your opinions?

BQ1: Will the younger fans grow up and credit Undertaker 'only' for his Wrestlemania streak? Why/why not?

BQ2: Will Jericho still be wrestling with his trunks or will be wearing the wrestling tights?

BQ3: Do you think WWE Divas have more talent or the TNA Knockouts when it comes to 'real' wrestling?

What it's done is create a very negative, vocal, and loyal demographic. It's almost undeniable that the internet has made everyone a little more aware of the business, and for some the enjoyment of the product has decreased as a result. It's not even to do with spoilers, it's everything behind the spoilers.

Nothing is a mystery anymore, everyone thinks that they know everything about the business. Who to push, how to construct a storyline, what makes a good match, why the ratings aren't higher, et al. People have become educated about the business in ways that simply weren't possible 15 years ago. And they use that "education" to justify their opinion on why a certain storyline isn't working, or why a particular wrestler sucks.

We're all guilty of this, and the bottom line is that the internet has taken some of the fun away from watching wrestling, in my opinion.

BQ1: They might soon realize that. Right now, they don't realize that because they don't know that Undertaker's streak is part of his legacy. When they evolve, they will realize that in their own words, Undertaker's only achievement was by being undefeated, but I don't think they'll really ponder about that.

BQ2: I guess with his wrestling tights. It will just seem awkward if he wears trunks while wrestling. I guess it's just similar to CM Punk's. Maybe when he gets to the ring, he will take them off and use his tights.

BQ3: That depends with the current roster. The Divas Division is really horrible. Now we have only soft kind of divas like Kelly Kelly and Eve. The divas who can fit the real wrestling criteria can be Beth Phoenix, Natalya, Tamina, etc. The Knockouts will definitely beat the WWE. I mean with their extended matches and brawls, that is why the Knockout's Division is being admired around.

Totally agree, I only found out about spoilers last year - Before then I didn't even know what "Marking out" was. One year later I agree with you, things you see are not as exciting as they were if you had no idea of who was returning for example.

BQ1: I think so, Wrestlemania is the biggest event in the WWE/wrestling calender and one thing that people will always look forward to would be seeing who will be Undertakers next victim. The main reason I say this is because almost every WM you have media and a celebrities pop up which the is the only reason some would revert to WWE once a year - alas only remember Undertaker being the guy they saw 7 odd years ago.

BQ2: I'm sure it will be the trunks

BQ3: No, I've only seen one TNA episode so far since it's screening and find the talent and matches on TNA match more appealing

Technically I'd have to agree with you but I never look up spoilers like other people lol that'd ruin Smackdown for me. I'd rather have Smackdown live on Tuesday's though! I miss the Attitude Era (WWF) everything was unexpected and more realistic too.

BQ: Some might, some might not.......depends! Why? Some of the younger fans don't remember Taker back in the WWF (they weren't born yet) and since Taker only wrestles at Mania's these days, they don't see him much!

BQ 2: I'm guessing either completely new tights or trunks, but with different designs and such! Either wrestling gear all the designs would be different I think!

BQ 3: TNA Knockouts right now, WWE is making a joke out of the Diva's division!

The internet has changed our WWE experience, but it hasn't ruined it. Before the internet, many people believed that wrestling was real. That alone changes the experience. However the internet isn't the only thing to hold accountable for spoiling that one. Television shows assisted it in many ways as well. Other than that changes have only been minimal. Of course, for some people to read or hear about wrestlers out of their persona can spoil your instinct to cheer on the face. For example: If wrestler A is a face and wrestler B is a heel, the natural inclination is to cheer for wrestler A. However if the internet reveals that wrestler A is actually a terrible person in real life and wrestler B is a great one, our intuition changes (though some people's natural inclination is to cheer heels). I think the internet is more helpful than hurtful to fans. For example: If I'm not going to be watching Smackdown or Raw, but I care about the results, I can simply found out what happened through the internet. It has changed how we view it, but it doesn't really take the fun out of it.

    BQ 1:

Yes, Undertaker's legacy is his streak. He will not be well known to younger fans and will not be remembered for his great matches or world title reigns. However they will remember his streak regardless of whether or not they like him.

BQ 2: I'm guessing trunks simply because he switched to them for a reason and was wearing them during the 6-man tag match.

BQ3: I believe some Divas like Natalya and Beth Phoenix are better than some knock outs, but Mickie James takes the cake when it comes to women's wrestling. Knock outs are overall more experienced in longer matches and in my opinion are more skilled.

I would have to agree with Chuck. Even if you choose not to browse wrestling news sites, you will still find out the news first hand on any wrestling message boards or even on here. Back when the internet wasn't so popular, the element of surprise was much more intact. Now you often know of the big names that are coming and taking part in future story lines weeks in advance. Fans know too much and when it comes to pro-wrestling and for it to thrive, you need to that quality of suspense and mystery; case and point - All the noise due to Cena coming back earlier then anticipated. The internet any way you slice it spoils the product. It's like going to a theater to watch a brand new movie when you have the actual movie script in your hand. How can you find satisfaction in that?

Agreed i was once like everyone else....i thought i was wrestling smart just because i knew what was going on backstage when i really didn't.I would always look up the spoilers and later call it predictable and boring.Ive changed since then and i never going near dirt sheets.....and WWE and TNA is interesting as ever.

and look at the PPV Ratings in WWE and TNA.....people wonder why they are so bad.it's because of the internet.the internet has ruined alot of things...including music...it takes no talent now days.Just upload a youtube video and you get a record label.

BQ1:Most likely yes because that's the only thing WWE credits him on.....you don't see many Undertakers greatest matches dvds.Hell they could atleast make a dvd with his WCW matches on it.

BQ2:I think he's going back to his suit gimmick...yes he will still wear trunks

BQ3:I really hate comparing the two divisions because the divas barelly get anytime to show their talent on RAW and Smackdown. The only time they get is on NXT,Superstars, and at House Shows.

but think about MOST Divas are brought in because they are models.Another thing the divas search...all of them are models. So you can't really compare the two.

i completeley agree with what you have to say when it comes to wrestling. maybe your going a little over board when saying the other things about the internet in general like really, i'd be dead without the internet. when it comes to wrestling though your right. storylines would be great but all we see are spoilers, trolls, predictions and all others things that ruin the experience. for example the itbegins thing would have been so drastic but every single site i went to it said "its y2j" and that completeley ruined the experince for me.

bq1 - probably, only fans that are truly there to witness undertaker can understand what he's capable of other than the streak.

bq2 - probably the titghts again, i cant see him in the trunks.

bq3 - i cant answer that, sorry bud we my source and you'll see why.

this is only my opinion, hope this helped.

I think that it does ruin it, especially Smackdown. Spoilers and people that are smart taking guesses, ruin it for is.

BQ1 - Sadly, yes. Thats why I think the streak is so important to not end. Because, why he has many accomplishments, the younger generation will only remember the streak.

BQ2 - Hopefully he will bring back the tights. He has been bringing back other things such as The Highlight Reel, so maybe he will bring back the tights too.

BQ3 - I really do think they do. All WWE does is try to get some pretty girls and teach them how to wrestle, where as TNA finds female wrestlers that have skill and beauty.

WWE made Social Media so serious that they are feuding online!

BQ1: They will not know him anyway

BQ2: I want to see him wrestle with his wrestling tights

    BQ3: TNA Knockouts

No one takes my one! :D

No, internet is there and it gives out spoilers, i agree to that point. But you have every freedom to choose between checking out and not checking out them. If you feel that spoilers ruin the watch, don't read them. If you read them, blame yourself for the inability to resist.

BQ1: Yes, they have seen him only in WM. Last time he competed other than at WM, he lost a series of matches against Kane.

    BQ2: wrertling tights, i guess

    BQ3: no idea, i don't watch TNA.
