What does "Late fee is applied if payments have not been received within 5 days of their due date."?

Just trying to clarify my rental agreement to see when the late fee will apply. So if my rent is due on the 1st and I don't pay by the 5th I will receive a late fee?

    Yes

Most landlords will give a grace period of 5 days. So, if you do not have your rent in by the 5th of a month, you will have to pay the late fee.

It means a late fee is applied if you don't make your payment within 5 days of the due date.

Why on earth would you let it get that close? Here are the order of priorities in your life. Housing (rent), food and utilities. That means you pay the rent on time without jeopardy period.

Most landlords won't charge until the 6th, but why chance it? Pay your rent on time. You have to have a roof over your head. It is Priority One....
