Wisdom teeth removal diet?
I got my wisdom teeth removed like 15 hours ago, (9:00am yesterday) I've been on a jello and mashed potato diet today. Right now I have no pain, I havent taken any painkillers and the only thing I have taken is the antibiotic.
I didn't get to ask about this because I was still loopy.
What can I eat other than that stuff. Will solid foods effect me if I eat them carefully. Can I eat fruit snacks? Can I eat things like raviollis. Mac and cheese or chicken noodle soup? I eat a lot cause I exercise a lot so I want to eat something filling.
Also how soon can I get back fatiguinging activites like exercising. My instructions thing just says avoid over fatigue but with no time. Thanks!
Thanks!

I waited at least a week before doing any strenuous exercise,as for eating I would not recommend you eat anything like raviolis or mac and cheese, keep it to very soft foods for the fist few days and than slowly start adding in the foods as you listed in your Q,things like jello, pudding, mashed potatoes, shakes(without the straw) and soups that dont contain to many noodles, veggies,or meat should be okay.I think the hardest part about having my wisdom teeth out was not being able to eat good,LOL.
I cant remember when my dentist told me I could go back to eating solid food again,so call your dentist in the morning and inquire as to when you can do that.
Good luck and I hope you have a speedy recovery!

I had all my teeth out 2 years ago in two sessions. The first time, it took 3-4 days to get back into a normal diet with discomfort. The second time, i guess being used to it, solids by the second day. The dentist at the time suggested that most people stop hurting normally by around the 5th day, and feel no discomfort eating around the 7th day. I would recommend trying something tough around the 5th day. If it still bothers you, a day or two couldn't really hurt your overall nutritional status. Ice cream did the trick for me back then. A cupful would numb the mouth for some heavier eating. Ice chips work too but are less fun.
