1994 Toyota Camry XLE V6 problems?
I'm getting the trouble code P1705. It says Direct clutch speed sensor. Its the A541E Automatic Transaxle & 1MZ-FE Engine. Is this the sensor bolted on top of the transmission...under the air filter.....a 2 wire plug?
I cant find a website that sells this part. All i get is "speed sensors" during parts searches.
Could it be anything else...besides the wires and ECM?
Could this possibly cause the transmission to not shift into O/D?

first, i'm in no way a versed mechanic on this platform. that said,
i can't find any legit info as it applies to a 94 and aP1705 code.
but i did find this. and if it applies, i would think that sensor, what it monitors would have an effect on trans shifting.

that's on an OBD2 platform though.
the manual at http://www.autozone.com/autozone/ doesn't even show that code.
http://www.autozone.com/autozone/repairinfo/repair...
but being a chilton/haynes clone manual, it's not the best.
i have called the toy dealer mechanics b4 on other issues. they have sent me tech info via email. might call 'em.

yeah, i agree with both the people above me. Odds are its one of your sensors, most likely oxygen sensor. Your SES light is there to warn you of a worn or about to go out sensor about 90% of the time. I recommend going to autozone and getting the code checked(yes they do it for free.) and then go from there. A new O2 sensor runs about $90-100 plus labor if you have it installed. Good luck to you.
