I can't remember how old i was but i know i've been into it for as long as i can remember. My dad was a photographer so i got into it through him and started using his old Chinon 35mm SLR. I know i took some photography classes at high school when i was around 13, which is where my teacher encouraged me to get into it.
I'm 28 now and finally taking it up properly.

Technically, I started seriously at 28 and I'm now 31.
Not so seriously, I've been into photography since I was about 15. It just took me 13 years to get a clue and realize I could learn it. Haha. After 3 years, I'm not where I could or perhaps should be but I like what I do and I don't care (much) if it becomes something spectacular or profitable. Maybe some day I'll work on expanding my skills and doing something different.

I was around 14 when I started learning about photography seriously enough to get myself a small rangefinder & then an SLR. That was about 35 yrs ago.
I've done photography on & off since then, sometimes as a paid job, sometimes not.
Consider my self reasonably competent.

Goodie! A poll!
An old friend gave me a Nikon F2 in '97 or so when I was 20. Bought an F80 in '03, got seriously into it about 4 years ago. Now here I am, freelancing here and there, pursuing my passion, and hoping to make more of it eventually.
