Can anyone find a good youth sized helmet?
I can't find a good youth helmet for my son with a fiberglass shell, they are all made out of junk plastic. All I want to do is get him a good helmet that isn't made out of garbage.
I am not getting my son a used helmet. I would buy him a Shoei or Arai if they made them, but nobody makes good helmets for kids. Even Bell helmets has given up on children.

I really don't think you can as they just don't make them. Some of the better helmet makers used to use the adult shell and put an extra larger moulding or padding inside of them so the kids could use them but really that was not a good answer either as then you had kids with enormous helmets that would fit due to the inner shell. Kids helmets do tend to do the job for the little kids and it only really starts to become an issue once they hit A grade in the 85cc class or 250cc class and then you still find guys with smaller heads having the same issue you are having in that they could do with a better helmet than a youth and there doesn't seem to be one on the market. The only thing I can suggest is to update the helmet after any incident.

try craigslist.org and type in your area and then helmets and Im sure someone will have one for sale!! (: hope this helps!!
