He'll have the advantage because teams HAVE NEVER seen him before. But he has the disadvantages of pitching against the AL East and pitching at Camden Yards is scary for any pitchers. Any flyball will HAVE a good chance at being a home run. It's NOT like pitching at Petco where you CAN get away with mistakes.
Will he be in the starting rotation? Depends if he has a solid spring training. Plus, other than Jeremy Guthrie, every other pitchers WILL compete for a starting spot. So he COULD make the rotation with a solid spring training.

I think he's more than a good chance to be.
He's a ideal choice too.
