Is my girlfriend overreacting? Opinions needed!!?
I have been with my girlfriend for 2 years next month.
Last night after going to the gym I was stuck in at home, and very bored. My girlfriend had gone out clubbing with a couple of her friends. I was on Facebook for a bit and liked a status made by a woman named Carly who I've known longer than my girlfriend, the status said something like "Can't wait to go out and have a good time tonight!!" She used to date my friend and there has never been any flirting or romantic feelings shared between the two of us. I barely speak to her either she is just someone I know.
Anyway not too long later I get a text saying "Who is this Carly, how do you know her and what the hell you liking her status for?"
I can't even like someone's status without being questioned. If a woman likes my status I get questioned on them too. It's only a Facebook status!! and I don't think it should be an issue.
Do you think she's overreacting?
I agree with you all. I'm barely even on Facebook and couldn't give a damn who likes what status or anything. I could understand if it was a photo of her that I liked or something, then she'd have reason to be upset.
She is very very insecure, no matter how much I reassure her she just has it in her head that I'm going to end up leaving her. Which if she carries on with this behaviour I might very well end up doing, because I don't think I can put up with this kind of s*** for the rest of my life!
Oh and to top it off, her mother gets on my back about my salary! Wtf has my salary got to do with her!!!

Yes, she is overreacting, and unfortunately this overreaction could be a sign of something else. I don't want to say it, but its possible she may be defensive like this because she might have cheated, and perhaps is becoming paranoid that you might do the same. I'm not saying if she has or hasn't, but becoming defensive or paranoid like that could potentially be a sign of that. If not, then at the very least she is a hypocrite. She is out clubbing, where she could potentially be grinding on other guys, and your at home on facebook, and she is the one getting upset at something you did???
Sorry for the rant, but I have had bad experiences with stuff like this as well, so I do feel your pain.

Just tell her who Carly is, doesn't really matter anyway, it won't change anything. But yeah, i agree... Facebook is a load of crap, oh wow, some chick liked my status, i guess i'll go running off into the sunset with her! geez, jealous is one thing, this is totally another. People take that FB stuff WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY too seriously

okay your girlfriend is just jelouse that you liked the status, and to be honest there's nothing wrong with liking a status infact you could tell your girlfriend that it was just a status, and it didn't mean you like that girl..

Yes she sounds psycho bro (with all respect of course). My girlfriend is similar and she gets jealous very easily - its probably worth telling her how you feel and that she should trust you more. Also it sounds like she over uses Facebook.
