Can Novak Djokovic win the "Nole Slam"?

A year ago, even as a fan it seemed nearly impossible to me that he could have half the success he had over the last 12 months, but now I'm wondering can he win the "Nole Slam"?

He was always amazingly good and consistent at the top, but a year ago, many wondered would he ever win a Grand Slam and stop the domination of Federer and Nadal, but a year later he already has 5 Grand Slam titles and is one of the greatest players in history.

Love him or hate him, you cannot deny that he is amazing.

◆ Wimbledon 2011

◆ US Open 2011

◆ Australian Open 2012

Those are 3 consecutive Slams in his possession at the moment, he only needs the French Open to achieve the "Nole Slam". Last time a tennis player won all 4 in a non calendar year was Serena Williams who completed it in 2002/2003 when she won the 2002 French Open, Wimbledon Championships, US Open and the 2003 Australian Open.

Many records are on the line too.

1) If Novak wins the French Open he will become he 1st player in the OPEN ERA to win 4 consecutive majors.

2) If Novak wins the French Open he will become the 5th man in history to complete the CAREER GRAND SLAM.

3) If Novak wins the French Open he will become the youngest player in history to have won all 4 Slams.

BQ: Are you happy Novak won?

BQ1: How many Grand Slams will he win this year?

BQ2: What's your favorite song at the moment?

I would love if he could do that. You put it great what he'll get if he does it, but winning French Open might be harder than winning any other Slam. Novak's best result here is semi final. He'll have many big obstacles. He has dominated play with his court coverage, his consistency, but more than anything else his rock solid return of serve – probably the best in the game. Still hard court is very different than clay. Ball jumps on other way and servers try to serve on other way. They serve on clay with a lot more patience. This might make Novak's return less dangerous. Even tho change can't be so big, best players still can find chance in this. Thanks to Novak's great movement he'll have big chances in long rallies. He uses clay very well to catch even more balls with his "skating". He should play aggressive.

As his two biggest opponents, Nadal and Federer will be his biggest obstacles.

Nadal even seems like easier. "King of clay" was beaten 7 times in row by Djokovic, including two times on clay. To beat him, Novak already knows what he should do. That's take balls extremely early and going for flatter shots that can get past Nadal. It is easier for Djokovic to take balls that early with his backhand because it is a technically flawless shot. With his forehand it is more difficult for him because of the extreme grip and a more complicated swing where things can go wrong much easier. So he should try to use backhand as much as possible. After yesterday's match, this might be harder than before. Seems like Nadal is finding way to beat him, too.

Federer is man who stopped Novak's run last year. Must important, it was on clay. Federer isn't known as perfect player on clay, but he found way to beat Novak. Federer had crowd in this match on his side, which may be one of many reasons he won. He also used pressure that Novak was feeling. I hope there won't be any of that this year. Federer serve was strong and he didn't allowed Novak to make too many breaks. He had an answer on everything Djokovic played, sending back shot after shot and waiting for his opponent to make the mistakes. I think main fact for Novak to beat Roger will be no pressure and believing in himself.

Also luck is what he needs to win. That's what all champions need. Having Federer and Nadal in opposite side of draw would be gift on which Novak can't say no. Murray is less dangerous on clay, than on hard court. Beating him would be easier than beating Roger or Rafael.

I hope that Novak may do that. He already did many things, but that would make him legend, in way that no one could deny that anymore.

So my answer is yes he can.I could've written only that, but since you're king of long answers, I gave you one.

BQ: Very happy. And it was nice to watch match with you and David ( not so nice with all fans of Rafa, tho). I already said that this was best match I watched and for sure it'll be my favorite for longer time.

BQ1: If I say what I want you'll laugh. So I'll skip this one.

BQ2: Many of them. And I love to watch them with lyrics, cause that way they load easier. :P

In all honestly like you a year ago, I was wondering if he was ever going to win another grand slam after his first win at the 2008 Australian Open, and now i'm so happy that he has finally realized his potential. But I never imagined that he could achieve the success that he has like the 43 match winning streak and winning three of the four grand slams in one year. For a long time I thought the the best he could do was just win the Australian Open and US Open, so I'm so happy that he's also won Wimbledon. His performance in last night's final was pretty impressive, as was Nadal's who you have to give credit for clawing his way back all the way to 4-2 up in the final set, which I don't think many other (or possibly any other) players could have done. Novak looked exhausted but somehow found the strength to go on, which is what impressed me the most because I don't think the old Novak would have lasted this long. So congrats to Novak for winning his fifth grand slam :)

BQ: Yes very :) Novak really deserved it but it really could have gone either way, and congrats to Nadal too for playing so well. Its a shame that both couldn't win because both players really did deserve to win the title in my opinion.

BQ1: I think Djokovic can win at least one more slam (most likely the US Open) but if he can continue to play well and stay healthy then I think he could win more, although I still think its a bit too early to tell.

BQ2: I'm not sure to be honest but "One Thing" by One Direction is really starting to grow on me.

ND is good enough to do so but I don't think he will. I think he is most likely not to simply because of injuries & fatigue, just as he suffered at the end of last year. If he has to play 5-set marathon matches in every semi & final that will take it's toll on his body, & also just due to random chance he is unlikely to win every single one.

The seasons is just too long especially this year, he will have ups and downs. There are also the Olympics this year so everyone will be gunning for that as a "5th major".

Also remember Federer is perfectly capable of beating Novak should they somehow meet in a final -- he did it in the French last year & almost did it in NY.

BQ: Yes, only because I HATE Nadal

BQ1: I say he wins one more (2 total) but NOT the F.O.

    BQ2: I don't listen to "songs"

You can't call it the "Nole Slam" cause he has never won it. If he wins the French Open, call it like that, but currently you can't.

And he won't win it. You Novak fans are just so selfish, can't leave even one Grand Slam for someone else.

Don't get mad at me. I'm in a bad mood.

Anyways, if Novak wins, well, lets say the " Serena Slam" cause she has won it and he didn't, good for him and good for his fans. But still I hope he won't.

BQ: Ofc I'm not. Yesterday was such a terrible day. First I watch Rafa vs. Novak and Rafa loses and than I watch Serbia vs. Denmark and Serbia loses. I'm such a bad luck!! :'-(

    BQ2: 1.

    BQ3: I have two.

Hell yes! You said it nicely, last year if someone told me he will start playing like this i would tell him he's crazy.. and when players we support start playing this well, our expectations tend to get really high, so yeah, i expect him to win on the RG this year and get himself in ilst along with the true greats.

BQ: You have no idea how much! No wait.. you do :)

BQ1: Heart says 4, mind says 3, it's impossible not to have a bad day at certain point! Hopefully he will get through that and preferably get help from his opponent on that day as well. I doubt he will have more than one day like that on a grand slam :) Let's just hope no injuries occur!

BQ2: Eh, currently i don't have a clear favorite from new releases, but I've been listening a lot lately to:

Cheers me up in these cold, snowy days :)

    The Nole

Yes, after watching him win many matches he should have lost over the past year, anything is possible. Great listing of those three records on the line at Roland Garros this year. Nole is truly on the brink of history, so I really hope he does it!

    BA: I'm ecstatic!

    BA1: 3 more (the sky's the limit)

BA2: Anything by Above & Beyond

Ans1: I am indifferent to who won the final. In some ways it would have been nice to see Rafa pull out with the win, only because he lost two finals against Djoker last year.

Ans2: I'm guessing he will win 1 more slam this year.

Also, I don't like how savage Djokovic acts when he wins a match. He always starts pounding his chest and ripping shirts. Makes him seem barbaric

Like the "Serena" slam lol. And yeah definitely, hes obviously still in great form. Nadal is the king of clay though, and he pushed him all the way today so it might of been different on clay, but yeah I believe he can.

    BQ: Yes.

    BQ1: 2

    BQ2 -

Titanium - David Guetta ft. Sia.

    Children - VV Brown.

Shark In The Water - VV Brown.

And All By Myself, cozza Cait and her question xD.

    1) yeah, i am happy for him, i mean i not considerer myself a nole fan but i dont like nadal defensive style, so i am happy since nole can beat nadal. 2) probably the 4 grand slam, on paris nadal is the worst opponent, on us open federer could beat him, but on wimblendon i think nobody could stop him. 3) im not sure... maybe =)

I think he would be the eighth player to win a career grand slam. Don Budge, Roy Emerson, someone else who I can't remember, Rod Laver, Andre Agassi, Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal have all done it.
