What was/were your outstanding track(s) and album(s) from last week?
hey guys =)
i bought "The Spirit Of Radio: Greatest Hits 1974-1987" as i did not own any albums from RUSH and i deeply admired their music. I must say ,being a fan and collector of compilation albums, this was one of my best purchases ever!.

My next purchase was "The Capitol Years 1995-2007" , some of the best tracks from The Dandy Warhols.

BQ: It's a pretty good compilation, but I prefer the live album "Different Stages: Live" to the Greatest Hits, because it covers just about EVERYTHING amazing Rush has ever done, perfectly performed live.
BQ3: Nope! :x
Edit: You're welcome! =0 I was a big fan of Rush for a long time, and never even knew that album existed up until a month ago. It showcases just about all of their old stuff (including the entire "2112" song), and a nice collection of their newer stuff. I think it was released in 1998.. not sure.

Your question is all over the place, lol
Outstanding albums of last week: Operation Ivy - Energy, Rammstein - Reise, Reise,
BQ1: I love Rush. Moving Pictures and 2112 ARE my Rush Greatest Hits lol. Favorite Rush song is RED BARCHETTA
BQ2: I cannot rate, my job blocks Youtube, however based on you trends in postings, it's probably pretty good - great!
BQ3: I just picked up some ska/punk from the 90's again. I have been listening to The Suicide Machines (first 2 albums), Reel Big Fish (Turn The Radio Off), Less Than Jake (Losing Streak), and Telegraph (10 Songs and Then Some). I have a lot of nostalgic memories in these records. Reminds me of being a little high school sh*t parading around talking about anarchy and f*ck the government. Lmao. I had a lot of good times at parties to those bands. There are a lot more bands from this time, but those are the ones I still listen to the most.
Cheers

BQ. It's a top album that. I bought it after Cheetah put me on to them in one of my questions. Amazingly I had never heard of them before that :) Some people I have asked about them described them as generic, and that Tom Sawyer was their only good song. I like the album, and disagree with them. New World man, Fly by Night and Subdivisions are my favourites.
BQ2.
Last High: The pace and Mood was quite remarkable: 8.5/10.
Get Off: I didn't like it too much, sorry: 5/10.
The Million Colour revolution: Relaxing enough, just missing a little weight for my taste: 6.5/10.
BQ3. All the time Patrick.

That sounds awesome! I've also been in "compilation land" this past week, enjoying two Cure CDs: Galore -and- Staring at the Sea. Both fabulous; both from different 'eras'. One kind of their pop tunes and the other more cerebral works... Good fun. I used to have a homemade tape of The Cure when a radio program was doing an evening or an hour with them or something.. LONG time ago. And hadn't had any Cure since, so this is one of those *discoveries* for me. Enjoying them very much.

Dang, Black Metal/ Folk/ Doom/ Post Rock/ Prog is such a masterpiece. No one crafts so gripping and emotional atmospheres or such nipping melodies. No one is really interested but one has to put this stuff somewhere to raise the awareness of the faithful ;D
