Car won't shift into 3rd?
My car recently had some work done on it and now it won't shift into 3rd gear. It will accelerate past the point where 3rd should shift in but I'm not taking any chances driving it like that. Would a gear sticking be the cause or something else? Suggestions for solutions are greatly appreciated by a college student with little transportation, thank you :)
The car is a '99 Dodge Neon and a water pump was replaced.

if it has a modulator on the transmission then it could be bad.

Without knowing the year,make,and model and the work that was done. It is hard to pinpoint the problem.

Sounds like a tooth is broken off the transmission.I had the same problem with my car and that was the problem.
