A team rebound is when the team gets the ball back but no particular person got the rebound.

    Examples.

If someone hoots a three and misses and it bounces of the opponents knee and goes out nof bounds it is called a team rebound and you get the ball back,

    or

If a opponent shoots and it hits the rim and rolls behind the backboard and goes out of bounds it is a team rebound and your team gets the ball

Team rebounds are recorded when a player may shoot a shot and it goes out of bound. The team rebound is a "stat" where the total number of rebounds equal the total number of missed shots. No one is really concerned about team rebounds except maybe the person getting paid to track the statistics.

Its the players rebounds combined for a total they call it team rebounds like ex. Celtics avg 25 team rebounds and magic avg 30 team rebounds. That's what it means.
