Lead warning label... Is it dangerous?
I wanted to buy some suspenders, but they came with a warning label.
"WARNING: CONTAINS LEAD. MAY BE HARMFUL IF EATEN OR CHEWED. MAY GENERATE DUST CONTAINING LEAD."
I live in Illinois, and I guess these labels have been required since 2010 (says a quick Google search), but I have not seen them before. Does wearing this article of clothing actually have a possibility of harming me? Is the risk very tiny or should I just not purchase them? I'd rather be safe than sorry.

Since I work in the environmental field, as long as whatever it is is not used for drinking or eating, you're fine. They just have to admit that lead was used to make a part of the suspenders. You won't have any problem unless you chew on the metal part, so don't do that.

Could be dangerous handling them if made, say, in China and the amt of lead greatly exceeds the stated amt.
This happened w/ jewelry where the stated amt of cadmium, a toxic heavy metal like lead, was far below the actual amt and ppl got sick.
If they'r made in China, dont buy em.

Ok If you're referring to the clothing, you're not going to eat it so don't worry.
Suspenders are not going to touch your actual skin and even if they did, they is barely if not any chance of getting sick from lead touching your skin. You're safe.
