kinetic energy: which has more?
Which has more kinetic energy:
A bicycle moving 10 km/h or a car moving 10 km/h? and why?
A 90- mph fastball or a barely roling bowling ball? and why?
I understand the concepts of kinetic and potential energy im just not sure which has more and why it is.. thanks so much!

KE = 1/2 mV^2
1. the car has much more mass.
2. probably the bowling ball because of more mass. If the baseball was going at the speed of light it would have more KE

Well kinetic energy has to do with velocity and mass...in the first one, they are both traveling at the same velocity, but the car has a lot more mass, thus has a greater kinetic energy.
In the second one, the baseball has a lighter mass than the bowling ball, but the baseball is traveling a lot faster, so im assuming that the baseball has more kinetic energy

No you don't understand the concepts if you can't answer this question.
K.E. = 0.5 x mass x velocity(squared)
If two objects are both travelling at the same speed, then wouldn't the heavier (more massive) object have more K.E. ???
Even though the baseball and the bowling ball are not even close to the same mass ask yourself this question.
Would you rather be hit (if you had to chose) with the barely moving bowling ball or with the 90 mph fastball?
Which has more energy then???

Car- more mass
Baseball- more velocity
