I would suggest Dell or Acer. Dell is little costlier than Acer, so if price is main concern then go for acer.

Like Dell, now Acer have also started full replacement warrenty. If any part of your computer have problem then they will replace that part with a new one. All other companies only repair them but acer and dell replace them with new part.

I have dell laptop from past 4 years and acer laptop for 1 year. And in 4 years, I have got many parts of my dell pc replaced like "Keyboard, mousepad, screen, dvd writer, ram, motherboard for 3 times etc".

So my suggestion is to go for dell or acer, because electronics always give problem with time, and it will save a lot of money which you will have to spend on repairs, if you opt for some other company.

Don't know to much about what brands are available in India and if they are genuine or just immitations China knock offs.

The 2 things that differentiate one manufacturer from others are the quality of hardware used and the before and after sale support.

In the US the following are good: HP, Acer, Toshiba, Asus, Lenovo.

Dell sucks! They use cheap hardware, fail to list to many details about specs and the Dell support is the worst of them all.

Alienware is just a nicely dressed and way overpriced Dell, and Macs are just shinny cool looking teenage toys, also way overpriced.

For gaming = ASUS and MSI

Standard use = Toshiba, Acer or Lenovo.

Never go with Apple or Dell.

    They're both rip offs.

I just bought an ASUS 3 months ago. Good value for money.
