Both. I have 4 dogs right now, a Mini Schnauzer, a Cairn Terrier, a Bearded Collie and an offspring of my Cairn and "late Jack Russell/Chihuahua. My Jack Russell passed in 2013, my kitty cat passed in 2012.

We have both cats and dogs which we love for different reason. Dogs are so loving and loyal they need you more than cats .ie taking them for walks and cats are more independed they live on there own terms. They are both great in there own ways.

i have a cat and a dog it's rare for me to see these two species get together along so well. both could have a positive and negative traits. i want to go back to the medieval ages. dogs are used for protection, hunting and for show. cats are for rodents and for show. in my personal opinion i'd rather keep dogs for they more often than not protect their masters. at the end of the day it's really up to you :) both are lovable pets

Dogs are more playful, you can teach them tricks, and cats just lay around, and cats don't really do much at all...So dogs.
