Problem with ejecting CD from Mac?

With new iMac, inserted a CD which doesn't show up on finder. Eject button & menu eject do nothing (as it would appear the system isn't recognising the CD).

On the old Macs one could do the old 'paper-clip-in-the-hole' routine, but not so on new Macs?

Very frustrating, and help greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Here are a couple of options:

    1. Go to your disk utility (in your Utilities folder). You might be able to see the CD there. If so, you might also be able to eject it from there as well.

    2. Shut down your iMac. When it's off, hold down the Eject button on your keyboard and while still holding it down, start it back up. It should automatically eject it when it starts up.

    3. Just hold down the Eject button for a few seconds. Sometimes that works.

    4. If you still have the CD's icon on your desktop, try dragging it to the Trash Can.

    5. Here is something else you can try if all of this fails: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2285

Oh, and you're not alone in this.I've had to deal with this on just about every CD-enabled machine I've owned, both Apple AND Windows.

    Hope this helps.

i'm unsure approximately mac, yet on maximum cd rom drives there's a splash hollow on the face of thepersistent, you will choose a paper clip or long in the present day pin. stick it interior the hollow as in the present day as you may, it extremely is going to hit something, in simple terms shop pushing and the drawer will open up. thank you
