No, There are only 4 recalls on this vehicle, and not one is for the intake manifold gasket because it is not a safety issue. Leaking lower intake manifold gaskets were a common issue with all of the 60 degree chevy engines until 2004 and the redesigned engine of 2005 no longer runs coolant through the intake manifold. Who is going to do this job for $300? This is about a $800-$900 job in an automotive shop because the labor alone calls for 5.5 hours (about $550) so if someone is going to do it for $300 you better make sure they know what they are doing, because if the wrong push rods are installed in the wrong location catastrophic engine damage will result!

I would say $300 is a good price. This is a common problem on these engines and the shop is probably familiar with it. I would do it for $300 but would prefer $400. It should not require more than 3 hours or so.

300 is indeed a good price for that job, as long as it's done correctly. The oil pump drive should also get a new gasket or O-ring at same time.

Get the revised intake from Dorman and get new bolts or you will be doing it again. Its very problematic on those years.
