hey, i have a question while reading chapter 11 in scarlet letter....
the question is, what other reasons does Dimmesdale hate himself for?, other than his sin of adultery with Hester.

Because he is very well known in this society, as a very nice and well rounded man. Plus, he is a priest if I am not mistaken. He honestly loves her, and he feels like he is defying God as well.
