does this count against my data plan?(10 points easy)?
I just bought a samsung galaxy S II Skyrocket. If i am connected to my home wifi does this count against my 2gb data plan since im using wifi instead of the 4g LTE network? I want to save my data for web surfing when my wifi is not available (youtube, internet, downloads etc. etc.)

Nope. Being connected to WiFi does not use your plan's data package.

wifi does not count towards data usage. If the Skyrocket version is the same as the international version, to turn data on/off, hold the power button, and its clear which one it is. If data is on, there will be a notification in the notification bar near the top of the screen, and it will display arrows (one for uploading, one for downloading). If they are coloured, then your phone is using data.
If you want to manage the amount of data you use, I'd recomend the android app "3G watchdog". It will record how much data you've used in a month, and you can set it to notify you when you near your limit, or even turn it off altogether automatically.

sure in case you have not got an information plan it potential no surfing the information superhighway yet once you're related to a unfastened wifi no it does not not count quantity against your plane. Its your wifi they might't inform you which you won't be in a position to apply or connect with it. they might even charge you for it.
