Can I use my partner's EBT card?

My life partner was on EBT benefits and he passed away in his sleep. He signed up for them when he lost his job due to an illness. Am I entitled to use his EBT card, or do I need to cancel it? It would sure help my situation out at least for a while. He just renewed it in January for 6 months.

You're not entitled, and you can get in major trouble for fraud if you're not listed to receive the benefits. If you want to do the right thing, notify the Health and Human Services, and cut up the card.

No, you cannot use his food stamp card. He was entitled to them you weren't. You will have to notify them of his passing and cancel his benefits. If you use his card after he has passed, you could be charged with fraud.
