How do you confront a suspected poacher?

I have a ranch with a lot of deer in Holman, Texas. I try to protect them. This last weekend I caught a guy who claimed he was vet (animal doctor) from Schulenberg, a neighboring town, parked outside a hole in my fence. His truck was there and I took a picture of it. He showed up after I returned standing next to the truck with a story about hunting coyotes next door. What do I do if he shows up again? He had hunting gear, a tree stand and knew my neighbors.

Call your local conservation officer service and give them the description of the car and driver, and give them the license plate number. They will probably go to his house and investigate him.

My dad accidentally shot a female deer (apparently not allowed to hunt) and he quickly drove away. A couple days later a conservation officer came to my house and interrogated my dad, saying "at this moment you are not under arrest."

These officers are intimidating and gather evidence thoroughly for their investigations. Call them about this guy and possibly find solid evidence of any crimes. My dad got a hefty fine even though it was an accident. Perhaps this poacher will get worse.
