iphone 4S vs. the android?
okay - I am finally ready to go from a dumb phone to a smart phone. I keep going back and forth ( as we women some times do) between the android system and the just going with the iphone. The Iphone certainly feels good in my hand and I know it is probably the most reliable...anyone out there get one and regret it????
thanks everyone for all your input. i am leaning towards the iphone for sure, buit am going to look into the galaxy nexus.

Here is the best-est Android - v- the iphone 4S specification and REVIEW
http://www.gsmarena.com/compare.php3?idPhone1=3621...
The Nexus is then very latest from samsung and is essentially a "version" of the Samsung I9100 Galaxy S II.
The Nexus do NOT have a microSD expansion and is only? 5Mp camera, whilst it does the very latest Android operating system the SGS2 will receive it also.
(At the bottom of the page "Replace with Please enter model name or part of it" ) if you want to see how the nexus fares against the IP4S
Lean all you want to the IP4S as quite frankly there is nothing in its specs**** that warrants these quite frankly absurd tariffs differentials
The IP4S will NOT be beaten on price, well not until the iPhone5
****Siri is a gimmick and if I have to record my Dads birthday on my phone, then that means I have also forgotten what date Christmas is

Android :
Pros :
Full customization - Desktop, Icons, Color, font, everything.
Wide variety of phones - QWERTY phones, military grade phones, super thin phones, large screen, small screen etc.
Widgets on homescreen.
90% of app profits goes towards developers, 10% to google.
Cheap to expensive phones. Contract or prepaid android phones.
microsd card expansion. More memory for you!
Some models contain hdmi ports so you can watch movies and such on your tv.
Cons:
Updates are scattered. Newer phones will receive newer android phones but some phones that are just a year old will no longer receive updates.
App interfaces are inconsistent.
Only Android 4.0 contains a consistent layout.
Phones are pumped out too quickly.
No hardware optimization so the hardware is not fully taken advantage of.
IOS/ Iphone:
Pros:
Consistent layout
Applications are less crash prone and are completely compatible with all iphones/itouch/ipads.
Easy and simple to use.
Great screen on the iphone.
Strong quality hardware.
Your phone will always receive an update. One time, and good to go as soon as its released.
Cons:
Restrictive app market, must go through an approval process.
Limited customization.
Expensive, Apple only creates one iphone. Their is no cheaper iphone unless its an older model.
Glass back will break instantly from a drop.
No microsd expansion.
Small screen
No hdmi port
By the way. The Galaxy Nexus is a 720p HD phone. It is the Google phone meaning it will always receive the latest updates. So if you want an android phone I would go with that if you care for updates.

I would steer you away from the iphones 4s because it has battery drainage problems:
http://www.techieinsider.com/news/13863/battery-dr...
Even Steve Wozniak, co-founder of apple says the same thing and that siri is glitchy:
http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-205_162-57360045/apple...
Furthermore, with iphone you do not get Adobe Flash which is required to properly view videos on many websites, it is a huge complaint among iphone owners. Plus you cannot expand memory with iphone if you run out of space but with android you just add a card up to 32gb and you're good to go.
You get more free apps with android, for example angry birds is free with android whereas you have to buy it with apple, or use their "free" version which has a big ad blocking part of the screen getting in the way of gameplay.
Android phones are usually superior in technical specs, faster and more customizable. It is the better choice, that is why it leads the global market in smartphones today despite apple selling their iphones cheap or free at places like Walmart.
And despite the Woz saying iphones are easier to use, ANYONE can use android, he had to say SOMETHING nice about apple lol.

Nope, android is better. To make Iphone cost 150-200$ and price to buy is to big. In -10 tempherature iphone 4s is shutdown. Also for androi u can easy change user interfate with almost any louncher and ake it like iphone, windows mobile, nokia n9 (n9 wiug "louncher 7"), windows xp or htc phones. Write to google images louncher 7 or android lounchers. Android havde good video games like gta3 from pc versim. Also now iphone hardware is jus 1gb ram and 1ghz cpu when other phones hawe better. Htc have beats audio system. With android u can download beautiful widgetc, clock and tons of stuff. If u buy android with the 4s pribe u get 10times beter phone

Don't get an Android they suck. My dad got an Andorid Becauase they have more apps that are free and they are cheaper. They break all the time. I have always had iPhones and I have never had a problem with mine. They cost more but you won't have to get a new one every month. Andorid just cheaply copies iPhones, like how they made Iris to copy Siri but they never work as good as Apple makes it. You can do more on an Andorid like get better wallpaper and stuff but that's it. But on the live wallpaper is slow and skips. And Andorid has more free apps, but the Apple App store has the most apps. Here are some of the iPhone features http://www.apple.com/iphone/features/
Don't waste money on a Andorid

I had an android because I have Verizon, and that was before they got the iPhone. The android battery was horrible and it was really slow. The iPhone is much easier to use, better battery, and it's a classic phone. Why do you think everyone has it? Because its great. Hahaha. I recommend the iPhone, and that's perspective from a woman. ;)

Android is more open... there are more free apps and choices for phones
you can get Android phones that have virtually the same "feel" you get from the iPhone.
the advantage and curse of the iPhone is only one company puts it out, they have virtually master control over everything. if they don't approve of an app... its not going to be available, etc. it also means apps are guaranteed to work.

I got one and regretted it, but luckily I was able to switch my phone. I switched my old 4S with the Samsung Galaxy Nexus, it's a great phone.
