Can embroidery be transferred from fabric to fabric?

I just bought a pair of pants off of ebay with embroidery detailing on them, but unfortunately the pants are too small and i can't get them on and I can't return them. The embroidery is very pretty though. Is there anyway to transfer it to another pair of pants? The embroidery design is made up of small flower details sewn onto black wool in a large section about 18 inches long and 5 inches in width.

Yes, it's possible to cut out that portion of the pants and applique or inlay that section into new ones. Probably easier just to redo the embroidery, though.
