is there a tans app downloader equivalent for a mac book air?

yes! if you're just a plain user (no hardcore games) then it would be fine. macbook air is really good to use because of its design, size, and weight. it's everything wireless so if you dont need that ethernet port and optical drive then surely this is for you. i believe in your school you'll be connecting to the internet via wifi not through the ethernet port. also, it has an application called remote disk so u could borrow someone else's optical drive. yeah it might sound weird but if you're not a dvd fan, then it's okay. macbook air is really eye catching so it feels great when you have it. it has nice illuminated keyboard (when dark), built-in isight camera, bluetooth 2.1 & 802.11n (latest version!!). and the multi touch trackpad is so niceeeeee! i own a sony vaio tz series. it works okay. doesnt really like it because it's slow. plus when they said the battery will last up to 11 hours, that's just a big show off. truth is, only 3-4 hours. it comes with a vista business so no games. pretty boring. but the design is nice. also i have tried a sony vaio cr series (comes with different yummy colors) it's great. the motion eye has many effects (just like mac)! it is a very entertaining device. i would recommend that u get either macbook (air) or sony cr series.
