parallel universe theory?

A question to those much more able to answer than I...

In the theory about parallel universes (i.e. the "multiverse") it is always pronounced that "I" have a duplicate (or duplicates, depending on the number of universes) in another universe. My question is: how?

When one brane touches another (or - conversely - when another "bubble" [I.e. universe is formed]), why am "I" automatically in the "new" one?

I have heard said - by many renowned physicists - that there is one of "me" in each parallel universe...and I wonder how that is possible. When a brane touches another does it suck the entirety of the information out of it (taking a copy of me along with it)?

Essentially what I am attempting to ask is this: why exactly is there a "me" in a parallel universe? Is it like a zygote splitting, where equal amounts of matter are taken by each division?

Also, why is the "me" in this alternate universe doing what I am doing here? I know that a particle can be in more than one place at the same time, but how does that expound to dual (or more) persons doing essentially the same thing?

Thanks in advance!

There are two answers of your question .

One is that there exists billions other universe like our universe and as We all are made up of atoms and with a specific combination ( a pattern ) of atoms and thus if there are billions other universes then this pattern may repeat itself and thus we can be present in other universes just like we are in this universe.

Now you may ask that , Given infinity, why isn't it equally plausible that the worlds within it would express infinite variety, rather than repetition

The answer is that there are only a finite number of possible states that a Hubble volume can have, according to quantum theory. Even classically, there are clearly only a finite number of perceptibly different ways it can be.

Now Quantum Mechanics also has a theory for many universes .

Young Hugh Everett agreed with much of what the highly respected physicist Niels Bohr had suggested about the quantum world. He agreed with the idea of superposition, as well as with the notion of wave functions. But Everett disagreed with Bohr in one vital respect.

To Everett, measuring a quantum object does not force it into one comprehensible state or another. Instead, a measurement taken of a quantum object causes an actual split in the universe. The universe is literally duplicated, splitting into one universe for each possible outcome from the measurement. For example, say an object's wave function is both a particle and a wave. When a physicist measures the particle, there are two possible outcomes: It will either be measured as a particle or a wave. This distinction makes Everett's Many-Worlds theory a competitor of the Copenhagen interpretation as an explanation for quantum mechanics.

When a physicist measures the object, the universe splits into two distinct universes to accommodate each of the possible outcomes. So a scientist in one universe finds that the object has been measured in wave form. The same scientist in the other universe measures the object as a particle. This also explains how one particle can be measured in more than one state.

As unsettling as it may sound, Everett's Many-Worlds interpretation has implications beyond the quantum level. If an action has more than one possible outcome, then -- if Everett's theory is correct -- the universe splits when that action is taken. This holds true even when a person chooses not to take an action.

This means that if you have ever found yourself in a situation where death was a possible outcome, then in a universe parallel to ours, you are dead. This is just one reason that some find the Many-Worlds interpretation disturbing.

Another disturbing aspect of the Many-Worlds interpretation is that it undermines our concept of time as linear. Imagine a time line showing the history of the Vietnam War. Rather than a straight line showing noteworthy events progressing onward, a time line based on the Many-Worlds interpretation would show each possible outcome of each action taken. From there, each possible outcome of the actions taken (as a result of the original outcome) would be further chronicled.

But a person cannot be aware of his other selves -- or even his death -- that exist in parallel universes. So how could we ever know if the Many-Worlds theory is correct? Assurance that the interpretation is theoretically possible came in the late 1990s from a thought experiment -- an imagined experiment used to theoretically prove or disprove an idea -- called quantum suicide.

There seems to be some confusion between two scenarios. The Many Worlds Hypothesis you describe is not the same as the Multiverse idea where a sort of super universe contains many universes. Whilst the Many Worlds idea can be accommodated within the framework of quantum mechanics, it is not an inevitable consequence, and most physicists disregard it. The Multiverse idea is deemed to be much more likely, where our Universe is just one among many, some maybe similar to our own and some vastly different. In fact, many modern physicists find our own Universe much harder to explain without recourse to the idea of a Multiverse, as it explains so many things we observe. In this scenario, there is no requirement for an infinite number of individuals, a much more comfortable thought for us all.

when you make a decision to say yes to a situation , in this situation there is created a alternate reality or universe where you said no instead, you also have to realize besides the fact that a particle can exist in more than one place at a time , a particle is made of energy and energy is endless and infinite it can not be destroyed , therefore when that particle is split 2 particles are created both with the same amount of energy as the original therefore creating parallels but not opposites , the same goes for you when you make decision and perform actions in your life , there are parallels for each of the decisions and actions in those Parallel universes, that theory also states that for every action and decision that every person makes there are an equal amount of universes for all those people, decisions, actions, and therefore creating an infinite amount of Parallel universes expanding exponentially

Well, here's the theory (and personally I don't believe it)

Every time YOU make a decision ( for instance you choose cabbage not carrots with your dinner) YOU create a NEW universe where YOU eat cabbage and in the old universe the OLD YOU is chomping on carrots.

Now this happens every time YOU make a decision (what shall I watch on TV? Friends or Big Bang?) so YOU are responsible for creating a new universe every few minutes (isn't that an awesome responsibility?)

The same applies to me (I just decided to answer you) and all the other seven billion people on earth

(and all the ETs on other planets and ((possibly)) every dog cat and cow on earth)

So at least seven billion universe (or dimensions are created every minute, where does the energy come from???

Personally I think some of these theoretical physicists live in cloud cuckoo land.

You have missed a few themes but all of them is about parallel systems. There are the same YOU right now (it is other theme for all that) somewhere else. There are in past that is very much more then that.Any information with you is it as proving that there are somewhere else in second case. You can change distance between two you but this distance in hours so your mind would leak as current ( i wonder very much about your acknowledges). I want notice about security when you take such affairs for i am clever then you as pattern.Greet you in any case! It is very good use on any war to get ahead your second that is not material but only mirage. Temper would stay bad though. But no more.Need to know complex numbers and e^x very well to right using. The second you as any body one can see as second answer in equations with square roots by asuuming that numbers -a and a are equal just as and ai. Their modules you must understand! Sings are only directions. It is very vast theme to write.
