My husband and I are visiting my elderly aunt and uncle there. What is the isle of wight like? Any lodging suggestions? Restaurants? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Try looking at www.islandbreaks.co.uk. The Island is mainly quiet and peaceful with old fashioned seaside resorts and beautiful countryside.

Remember there are several different ferry crossings depending on which part of the island you are going to.

South West Trains from London Waterloo and other services serve the ports at Portsmouth Harbour,

Southampton (complimentary bus service from Southampton Central Station), and Lymington Pier

The Isle of Wight is very geared up for visitors. You will find it very easy to find places to stay out of season. My favourite resorts are on the south of the island: Shanklin, Ventnor and Sandown.

There is plenty to see and do while you are there. I'm sure your uncle and aunt will know places.
